Buck, The Fence Dog, says…

Have a wonderful Summer and use this tip to keep your fence clean in the summer!

No matter which type of fencing you have, you must care for it if it is dirty. Inspecting the fence is the best way to see what exactly you need to work on.

While most fences that are a little worn or dirty can be cleaned with a good scrub, there are other ways to deep clean your fence:

  • Place plastic drop cloths along both sides of your fence, and cover them with cloth tarps or old bed sheets. By doing this you will help absorb any runoff water that could otherwise harm your grass and vegetation.
  • Mix one gallon of water in a large bucket with a quart of chlorine bleach. Pour that solution into a hand held garden sprayer.
  • Begin spraying the fence starting off with one side. Start at the top of the first slate and work down to the bottom, spraying the solution.
  • Continue this until the fence is completely covered in the solution and let sit for 5 minutes
  • Once the solution has had a chance to penetrate the stains, wash off the solution with water from a garden hose.

The Fence Company looks forward to working with you to increase your home’s curb appeal, and to keep your children, and pets, safe and secure.
